ZTE is the latest Chinese company which is going to join Indian smartphones markets by launching smartphones and tablets in coming days. The company has reportedly partnered with Pune-based Calyx Telecommunications to distribute its products in the country.
Revealing the plans of ZTE, Businesss Lines reports that the company will launch smartphones of five models priced between 5,799 to 14,999. The company will introduce tablet PCs in the Indian market first followed smartphone soon after. As per the company, the products will go on sale in all major states by the end of October this year.
Here is exactly what ZTE India Chief Executive Officer, Xu Dejun said in a statement:
Globally, ZTE is the fourth largest handset manufacturer and we are certain to strengthen our position in India, which is a key growth propeller for us, contributing to 10 per cent of our overall revenues.
According to the Calyx Telecommunications’ Executive Director Gaurav Somani, the ZTE’s to be launched products will be primarily targeted at five states — Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh in the country along with 60 cities and towns through over 7,000 touch points.
