WASHINGTON: Apple iPhone is losing market share to other smartphones rivals like Samsung and HTC, says a report by technology analyst house Catalys.
The shipment of gadgets including notebooks, tablets and smartphones has recorded a growth of 37% in the first quarter of 2013 as compared to the same quarter of 2012. Android as of now is the most widely used operating system in handheld gadgets like tablets and smartphones. Google’s open source free operating system Android caters 60% of shipments. On the other hand Apple has 19% of this market.
Samsung and HTC have emerged as the leading tech rivals with innovative improvements in handheld devices. Apple iPhone was released in mid 2007 and since then it is loosing its position. The user interface of iPhone as well as hardware are now outdated and need to be updated.
