Now your favorite Apple iPhone can be used as a thermometer in order to get temperature reading of your body if you have fever or not. This magic has come true by the Kinsa Smart thermometer which, when connected to the iPhone via 3.5mm audio jack at one end, can be used to inspect the temperature of the human body, just like any other conventional thermometer.
But unlike conventional thermometer, the Kinsa smart thermometer is quite more advanced and a great health tool. Running with the support of an app, the device is like health weather that provides you the information related to what illnesses are going around in your area. The Kinsa mart Thermometer is currently listed on indiegogo, a crowd-funding site and can be reserved for a contribution of as little as $25.
After getting the reading, the app will allow a parent to share child’s temperature with doctor to get further instructions and also track it over time while monitoring the health situation at school. It also shows a list of urgent care centers nearby. The system allows one to forecast how long a current illness will last, brings one-touch access to a nurse and lets you upload pictures and videos to your doctor. Push notifications can alert you to outbreaks of the flu or other illnesses throughout your area.
At the moment, the product is waiting for FDA review that will take 90 to 120 days in general. Once reviewed, the company hopes to have its Smart thermometer ready to launch in November or December this year. After the launch, the company is expected to ship 10 million units of Kinsa Smart thermometers in the next few years in order to create a real time map of health.
