MPH (Media Player Hotkeys) is a free small portable software developed by Skwire Empire that is used to assign hotkeys for a number of functions in many media players.
Salient Features of MPH (Media Player Hotkeys)
MPH (Media Player Hotkeys) is a useful utility which can control a media player with the keyboard. It works even when the player is not the active window on the system. This feature is useful particularly in case when working on full-screen applications. It can save time to control a media player. You don’t need to switch to the player window to control it.
MPH (Media Player Hotkeys) is extremely flexible hotkey system. As global hotkeys, you can use keyboard keys (including Numpad and Function keys) or mouse actions.
Hotkeys get activated as soon as they are created and work as as long as MPH (Media Player Hotkeys) is running in the background. There is an option to choose to run it at Windows start up. See the screenshot below.

Only the following actions are currently supported :
- Volume Up
- Volume Down
- Volume Mute
- Show Popup Menu
Compatibility and Player Support
MPH (Media Player Hotkeys) is compatible with 32-bit and 64-bit editions of the Microsoft Windows. It is a portable program and doesn’t need any installation. Just place the folder anywhere as per your convenience. The good news is that it saves all its setting in the same folder it is run from.
MPH (Media Player Hotkeys) supports most of the media players. Currently the following player-applications are fully or partially supported :
- Foobar2000 WA
- Light Alloy
- Media Player Classic
- Quintessential Media Player
- Screamer Radio
- Spider Player
- Windows Media Player
In this utility, in Players tab it is clearly stated which actions are supported or unsupported by specific players. See the screenshot below.
