After launching Idea Zeal last month, Idea Cellular has announced the launch of a new dual-SIM Android based smartphone in India. Dubbed as Idea Aurus 2, the smartphone is touted as a successor of Idea Aurus which was launched last year for 7,190.
Unlike its predecessor, Idea Aurus 2 packs 1GHz single core processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal memory and runs on Android v4.1 Jelly Bean platform.
It features 3.5-inch HVGA display with 320×480 pixels resolution and the company has also provided 3.2-megapixels rear camera and VGA front camera in the smartphone to fulfill your imaging needs.
Here is what Sashi Shankar, Chief Marketing Officer – Idea Cellular commented at the launch:
Idea focuses on bringing the best of 3G technology at affordable price to our subscribers, thereby maintaining an equilibrium between both cost and technology. We are encouraged by the response to our 3G smartphones, having sold over 300,000 3G smartphones over the last one year. We expect Aurus 2 to meet the consumers’ expectations for entertainment, e-mail connectivity, social networking, and browsing of smart apps and widgets.
Priced at 6,490, Idea Aurus 2 is now available in the country via idea outlets and major retail stores. To sweeten the deal, the company is offering a lucrative package to the buyers that includes 1.6 GB of 3G data and Idea TV subscription free for the first 3 months at a cost of 261.
