The popular Chinese phone maker Huawei has announced the launch of its monster Ascend Mate phablet in Australia at a press event held in Sydney. As per the company, this 6.1-inch large display handset will go on sale in country starting April 20 this month through Harvey Norman stores for a suggestive price of AU$429 (approx. 23,926), and will come in black colour only.
The company had showcased this monster phablet at CES-2013 exhibition earlier this year, and Australia is the first country to receive the launch of Ascend Mate.
Running on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean along with Motion UI, Ascend Mate features 6.1-inch 720p HD display, 1.5 GHz Hi-Silicon quad-core processor, 8 MP AF rear-facing camera with HDR and 1 MP HD front-facing camera. It is powered by a huge and powerful 4,050 mAh battery.
Huawei Ascend Mate will be competing with Smsung’s recently announced Galaxy Mega series of smartphones that includes Galaxy Mega 5.8 and Galaxy Mega 6.3, and scheduled to be available in market from next month.
