As per the Mozilla CEO Gary Kovacs, the company is planning a first-wave roll-out of the OS that will begin in just a few months. Speaking at the D: Dive Into Mobile conference, he revealed that Firefox OS powered smartphones are almost ready for shipments, and it will be first arrive in five countries including Venezuela, Poland, Brazil, Portugal and Spain in June, and 11 more by the end of the year.
The corporation has been managed to make tie-ups with the several global smartphone manufacturers including Sony, Huawei, LG, Alcatel and ZTE to launch the Firefox OS powered smartphones across the globe, but apart from the announcement of ZTE Open and the Alcatel One Touch Fire at MWC exhibition earlier this year, none of the company has yet come forward to make their Firefox OS powered smartphone available in the market. Sony has also showed their seriousness by launching a Firefox OS ROM for their budget Xperia E smartphone, but it’s scheduled to be launched in 2014.
