Samsung has announced the launch of two budget entry-level Android Jelly Bean based smartphones named Galaxy Star and Galaxy Pocket Neo for global markets. Both the smartphones were earlier announced for African market at Samsung Africa Forum last month.
Both the smartphones feature 3-inch QVGA TFT display, dual-SIM functionality, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, 512MB RAM, 2MP rear camera, 4GB internal memory, microSD slot for memory expansion up to 32GB. Both the smartphones are powered by 1200 mAh battery and support WI-Fi and Bluetooth.
While Samsung Galaxy Star is powered by 1GHz Application processor, Galaxy Pocket Neo is equipped with 850 MHz Application processor. As per the company, both the smartphones will be also launched in Single SIM version. However there is no word on the exact availabilities and pricing of the smartphones yet, but looking at the specifications of the smartphones it is likely that they will be priced in the 4,000-8,000 price range.
