HTC has announced a new Android smartphone for Taiwan after Desire U which was announced earlier this year. Dubbed as HTC Desire P, the smartphone supports 4.3-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen Super LCD2 display and includes 1 GHz dual-core processor along with HTC Sense 4.0, 768 MB RAM, 4GB internal memory and 1620 mAh battery.
There is no word on operating system powering the smartphone but is expected to be latest Android Jelly Bean as there is no meaning to launch Android Ice cream based smartphone for the manufacturer like HTC. Like other smartphones in this range, it also supports expandable memory up to 32GB via microSD card slot.
On the imaging front, it comes with 8MP auto focus camera with LED flash support and BSI sensor. There is no front-facing camera in this smartphone. Connectivity features of the smartphone include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 with aptX, GPS and GLONASS.
HTC Desire P is priced at 10900 New Taiwan Dollar (approx.US$ 365) and the phone will hit the store in few coming days. It would also be avaialbale on contract from Chunghwa Telecom. There is still no word whether HTC plans to release the phone in other markets worldwide.
