We already know Apple is in process of developing iWatches , which are said to be capable of functioning like iPads and iPhones, and just 2-3 days back, we heard Samsung admitting it’s working on Smart watches since long time to take on Apple’s to be announced iWatch. Now a new interesting report has been floated claiming that internet search giant Google is also working on similar kind of devices to compete with the likes Samsung and Apple in this arena. As per the Financial Times, the watch is being developed by the company’s Android section, and not by the X Lab, which has responsibility to develop the Google glass. The company’s Google glass is scheduled to hit the stores by the end of this year.
As per the publication, a Google patent application for a wearable computer filed in 2011 and approved last year lends credence to the rumours. The filing describes a “smart watch” with a dual-screened “flip-up display”, “tactile user interface” and onboard camera.
However, it’s not officially confirmed by the company’s official like always, but if this report is really true, we might see Sundar Pichai showing this Smart Watch at company’s Google I/O event.
