Nokia has announced the launch of two Lumia smartphones in India at an event held in New Delhi. Dubbed as Lumia 520 and Lumia 720, both the smartphones were originally showcased at CES this year in Barcelona. They are expected to hit the Indian online/offline retail stores next month onwards.
Talking about the specs, Nokia Lumia 520 features 4-inch (800 x 480 pixels) display with 2D hardened glass. Running on latest Windows Phone 8 OS, it is powered by 1 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Krait dual-core processor, 512MB RAM, 8GB internal memory and 1430mAh battery. Other features of the smartphone include 5MP auto focus camera at the back with 720p HD video recording and microSD slot for memory expansion up to 64GB, . The connectivity features include, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS.
Nokia Lumia 520 comes in various color options including Yellow, Red, Cyan, White and Black with optional interchangeable back covers. However there is no official word on its price yet, but the smartphone carrying a price tag of 10,499 is spotted listed in Flipkart.
As far as Nokia Lumia 720 is concerned, specs-wise it comes with 4.3-inch (800 x 480 pixels) ClearBlack display, 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8227 processor, 512MB RAM, 8GB internal memory and 2000 mAh battery.
It packs a 6.7-megapixel auto focus camera at the back with LED Flash, Carl Zeiss optics and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera along with microSD card slot for memory support up to 64GB. On the connectivity front, it features , 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.1, GPS / aGPS, NFC,A-GPS and GLONASS. Unlike Lumia 520, Lumia 720 comes with an optional wireless charging cover accessory.
Like Lumia 520, it also comes in Yellow, Red, Cyan, White and Black colors. It is expected to be priced 20,000 in India and would go on sale from mid-April carrying 1GB of free 3G data from Idea Cellular for 2 months.
