HTC has officially announced the launch of a dual-SIM mid-range smartphone in Chinese market. Dubbed as HTC E1, the smartphone supports 4.3-inch WVGA Super LCD 2 display and will be available in China for 1,799 yuan (approx. $290).


HTC E1(model number 603e) runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean platform supported with 1.2GHz dual-core processor, HTC Sense 4+, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage and 2100 mAh battery. On the imaging front, it features 5MP rear camera and 2.1MP front camera. coonectivity options of the smartphone include Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, Wi-Fi, DLNA, NFC and HDMI.

This is the first time after the launch of flagship HTC One, the company has announced any smartphone. The company is currently facing a hard time and struggling with the shipments of HTC One because of the lack of the components related to Ultrapixel camera and metal casing.

There is no word regarding the availability of the HTC E1 in other markets outside China.
