Just one day before the launch of Samsung Galaxy S IV in NYC, the company has announced the launch of three Android Jelly Bean based smartphones for Africa at the Samsung Africa Forum 2013. Two of them, Samsung Galaxy Star and Galaxy Pocket Neo smartphones run on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS and features 3-inch QVGA display, 2MP rear camera, 512M RAM, 4GB internal memory, and support dual-SIM connectivity and Bluetooth 4.0.
Apart from these common specs, where Samsung Galaxy star features 1200 mAh battery, EDGE and microSD support up to 32GB, Samsung Galaxy Pocket Neo comes with 850MHz Cortex A9 processor.
As far as Samsung Galaxy Grand is concerned, it features 5-inch WVGA screen LCD TFT display, Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal memory, 8MP rear camera, 2MP front camera and 2100mAh battery. Samsung Galaxy Grand fits in between the Galaxy Note and Galaxy S III in size and most specs except the screen technology and resolution which is LCD while the others are Super AMOLED.
There is no word on pricing and availability of these smartphones outside Africa.
