Mozilla Firefox uses too much RAM.

If you are using Mozilla Firefox as your default browser then sometimes you will find that it’s running quite slow and taking too much time to load any webpage. It is because your RAM doesn’t has so much capacity and Firefox is consuming too much RAM.

Mozilla, the world’s best browser is not perfect in some aspects. However it provides you some authority to fix some of its troubles and adjust its settings. Certainly the best way to get rid of this problem is to increase your RAM capacity. But if you don’t have the budget for RAM upgradation, still you can fix this problem.

How to get rid of this Problem?

  1. Open Mozilla Firefox and in address bar type and enter :
    about:config

    It will will show a list of configurations.

  2. Scroll down and go for :
    browser.cache.disk.capacity
  3. Edit its value by double clicking or right clicking on it. By default it is set to 50000, change it to a lower value depending on your memory. If you have only 1GB of RAM, change it to 20000.
  4. Restart your Firefox and feel the difference. πŸ™„ πŸ™„
