As reported, Sony has finally announced the launch of its flagship smartphones Xperia Z and Xperia ZL in India today. Priced at 38,990 and 35,990 respectively, both the smartphones are spotted in Flipkart, but on pre-orders. Both the smartphones were announced at CES exhibition this year in Nevada and Sony gradually started launching them globally after that. As per the company, Sony Xperia Z will hit the stores first on this 12 March followed by Xperia ZL later this month.
Talking about the specs, both the smartphones run on latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS and are powered by 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, the same processor which is also powering HTC Butterfly and LG Optimus G launched in India few days back. Both the smartphones feature 5-inch full HD display. Other specifications of both the smartphones includes 2GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage, 13MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, and microSD card slot.
In particular, Sony Xperia comes with 2330 mAh battery along with water resistant and dust-proof glass on front and back side, while Xperia ZL has plastic back and has 2370 mAh battery.
Sony Xperia Z and Xperia ZL will be competing with LG Optimus G, which also comes with same features apart from full HD display. The competition will be even more tough when Samsung Galaxy S4, which is likely to be launched next week, will arrive in India.
