HTC has started rolling out Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update to the Indian HTC One S devices. HTC One S was launched in India last year and went on sale in the last week of June. The company had launched HTC One S in two versions, one with Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, and the second with Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 processor. The Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 version of HTC One S has received the Android Jelly Bean a couple of months back. Since the Indian HTC One S includes Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 processor instead of Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 , this is the probable reason for the delay in update.
Anyway, despite delay in update, it’s still a good new for HTC One S users in the country. The update is 597.79MB in size and rolling out via OTA. You can check the update manually by navigating to Settings>>About Phone>>Software Update, but before installing the update, it’s highly recommended to charge your device’ battery full as the installation consumes more time.
Android Jelly Bean update brings many improvement, bug fixes and goodies over existing Android 4.0 ice cream sandwich. Some of them are:
- HTC Sense 4+
- Enhanced UI and better performance in camera
- New landing page and Event/Map view in Gallery
- Power management improvement
Apart from these, we’re also expecting to see Jelly Bean features like Project Butter improvements, Google Now, enhanced notifications, enhanced widgets, and new embedded speech recognizer.
