Generally every internet user tend to bookmark the address of the websites that they like to visit several times throughout the day. It helps us to quickly access these frequently visited pages without having to type the URLs in the address bar.
But in order to quick access apart from bookmarking in Mozilla Firefox, there is also an alternate way called Keyboard Bookmarking in which we assign a keyboard shortcut for a bookmark.
How to Assign? To assign a keyboard shortcut to a bookmark, right click on that bookmark and go to properties and in the keyword field enter any letter you want and then press save. The next time when you want to visit that site simply go to address bar, type that letter and press enter. For instance I have assigned keyword T for www.techpuffs.com as bookmark keyboard shortcut.
SiteLauncher : An Alternate Way
Apart from this, if your memory power is weak and you can’t remember too many keywords then there is an add-on available for Mozilla Firefox called SiteLauncher, in which each site key is displayed. You don’t have to memorize a bunch of key combinations to use keyboard shortcuts but only one hotkey.
You can add as many sites to SiteLauncher as you want and any character key can be associated with a site, you’re not limited to just a-z, 0-9. Also by pressing the combination Ctrl + Shift + S will quickly add the current web page to the SiteLauncher menu in one click.
