HCL has quietly announced the launch of a dual-SIM Android tablet in India. Dubbed as HCL ME Y3, it is the company’s first dual-SIM tablet. It is priced at 11,999 and is currently listed on the deal site Snapdeal.
Specs-wise it has 7-inch capacitive multi-touchscreen display with 1024×600 pixels resolution, Android 4.0.4, 1GHz Cortex A9 processor, 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage on-board. It also comes bundled with specifications like 2MP camera rear camera, 0.3MP front camera, microSD card slot for memory expansion up to 32GB, FM radio and connectivity options like 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The tablet is powered by 3,100 mAh battery. Users can make voice calls from both the SIMs but it’s not cleat yet whether the tablet will support 3G data on both the SIM or just one of them.
This is not the only dual-SIM tablet available in India. Swipe and iBall have launched dual SIM tablet in the country couple of months back in 2012. While Swipe Tab All in One features 7-inch full-HD capacitive touch screen display, Android 4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich), 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB of internal storage and 4,000mAh battery, iBall Slide 3G 7334 also comes with 7-inch display, Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), 1GHz Cortex A9 processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB of internal storage, 4,400mAh battery and supports 3G on both SIMs.
