Sony has announced the launch of a new flagship smartphones named Xperia Z in its Xperia line up at CES 2013 in Las Vegas. This smartphone features 5-inch full HD display (1080 X1920), latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on-board and is equipped with 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor, massive 2GB RAM, 16GB of internal memory and monster 13-MP rear camera. It has been certified by IP55 and IP57, which means it is dust and water resistant. Connectivity options of the device include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC It has been powered by a 2230mAh battery.
As per the company, Sony Xperia Z is preloaded with a new technology called Battery STAMINA Mode that can improve the standby time of the phone by four times or more by automatically shutting down battery-draining apps whenever the screen is off and starting them up again when the screen is back on.
As far as the global launch of the device is concerned, it will hit the shelves in Q1 this year with Android 4.1 on-board and then it will get Android 4.2 update soon after the launch. There is no word regarding its price yet.
