Darul Uloom Deoband, the leading Islamic school in India located at Deoband (Saharanpur District, Uttar Pradesh) has prohibited its students from using mobile phones with camera facility. The management there has seized 14 such camera phones from students residing in the hostels.

As per the new rules, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Maulana Abdul Khalik said that from now onwards, students can only use mobile phones without camera or video fatures because such devices are badly affecting their studies.

The educational seminary has warned its students that strict disciplinary action would be taken if anyone is found guilty of avoiding the norms.
