Demand of e-Reader Devices for reading e-Books has significantly diminished due to the rise of tablets and smartphones. Popular e-Reader Devices like Amazon Kindle, Barnes & Noble Nook, Sony Reader, PocketBook, Kobo eReader have encountered record fall in sales.

There had been noticable growth of electronic readers to read electronic digital files for since last five years. But now, it seems that e-Readers are in the last stage of their evolution. Those Black & WHite screen of e-Readers are not attractive customers anymore. It seems that customers are now more inclined towards varsatile devices like tablets and smartphones than specific-use-centric devices.

Looking at the change in trends, Amazon was released tablets in the line of Kindle brand. Similarly Barnes & Noble has also introduced tablets with the title of Nook brand.

Research firm IHS iSuppli expects shipments of e-Readers to fall from 23.2 Million last year to 14.1 Million this year.
