With this 24X7 emergency alert service, subscribers can also send a ‘SAFE’ SMS indication to a pre-defined group of 10 family members and friends and keep them informed of their wellbeing especially when out alone and during any natural calamity or disaster like earthquake, tsunami, flood etc. with just one click.
According to the company, the emergency alert will also find easy adoption by various customer segments including, teenagers, working women, retired population, migrant workers to name a few. It is also a great way to stay connected with friends and families during natural calamities such as tsunami, earthquake, cyclone or disasters like fire and accidents. In addition to providing assurance of safety of the sender, it can also be used to seek help round the clock.
How to activate and use the service?
In order to activate this 24X7 emergency alert service, dial 55100 and follow menu options. You’ll be charged 30 for 30 days. Add the mobile numbers of your 10 closest ones by messaging START. Now You are subscribed with the service.
If you want to inform your beloved ones about your safety, just SMS SAFE to 551000 to reassure loved one that you’re safe but when you’re in emergency and unable to talk, make a call to 55100. Your family will receive voice and SMS alerts with your location details. In case you need help urgently and cannot decide whom to call, SMS HELP to 55100 and send alert to all your closest 10 loved ones.
