Samsung has started providing Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for its flagship smartphone Galaxy S III, who dethroned Apple to become world’s best selling smartphone in Q3 this year, in India. The Jelly bean update is 290MB in size and is available over-the-air (OTA) as well as via Samsung Kies application on PC. Galaxy S III users can also manually check for update by navigating Settings->About Device-> Software Update in their device.

Android 4.1 jelly Bean was released in June this year and brings many performance improvements including ‘Project Butter’, offline Google voice dictation, improved keyboard, expandable notifications and more over Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). On October 29, 2012, Google announced the launch of Android 4.2 which is nothing but major updates and improvement in Android 4.1.
