Keeping the huge inclination of Indian customers towards Apple iPhone 5 in mind, which has just arrived in the country on 2nd November, the two leading service providers Airtel and Aircel has announced new and lucrative data plans exclusively for iPhone 5 users.
The data plans of Airtel include four new voice and data tariff plans for the postpaid users of the iPhone 5. The company is offering 200MB of 3G data, 300 National SMS, and 500 local minutes for Rs 300/month; 500MB 3G data, 400 SMS, and 900 local minutes for Rs. 500/month; 1.2GB 3G data, 500 SMS, and 1,400 local minutes for Rs 800/month; and 3GB 3G data, 600 SMS, and 1,500 local minutes for Rs 1,000. These worth-while data plans are valid for only those customers who will buy iPhone 5 through Airtel. In India, the iPhone 5 is priced at 45,500 for the 16GB version, 52,500 for the 32GB model while the 64GB version carries a price of 59,500.
On the other hand, the announced data plans of Aircel include benefits such as no monthly rental and free 1GB data usage, 500 minutes of voice calls, and 500 SMS per month. After going past the free data and voice limits, users will be charged as per regular tariff rates. There is no rental fee on these plans. According to Aircel, the users can enjoy a range of usage plans giving a benefit of more than Rs. 20,000 annually with the iPhone 5. Following the footsteps of Airtel, Aircel is also selling iPhone 5 at similar prices.
