Indian Railway’s technical wing CRIS (Centre for Railway Information Systems) in association with RailYatri team has developed a real time train tracking app called RailRadar, which enables passengers to know the location of the train on google map and visualize the running-train network in real-time.
The RailRadar features a user friendly interface and one can easily know the running status of the train and the trains around a station by just entering the train number or name and station name or code respectively in the search box provided. Once your search is finished, you can zoom in the map to view the details more clearly. At the top, RailRadar displays the number of active trains digitally in a particular time throughout the nation and scheduled to be updated automatically every five minutes. It also provides an overview of trains running on time and status of delayed trains. The blue arrows in the map indicate the trains running on time whereas red ones shows the delayed trains.
In April this year, CRIS had also launched a real-time national train enquiry system called TrainEnquiry.com, where users can get the exact location and running status of desired train along with the departure and arrival time on previous and upcoming stations respectively.
