Bollywood actress and supermodel Anupama Verma is the latest celebrity who has come forward to promote vegetarianism among the people. In the ad shoot for PeTA, she has suggested people to go vegetarian and requested them to stop killing innocent animals for their meat.
The ad has been shot by ace photographer Rafique Sayed and it was released during World Week for the Abolition of Meat and just in time for World Vegetarian Day (1 October). As you can see, in the ad captioned “Try to relate to who is on your plate – Go vegetarian”, she is seen clutching the meat hook with her body wrapped in cellophane like a piece of meat and in the cold stainless-steel setting of a butcher shop.
Commenting on the ad campaign, veggie Anupama said :
However Anupama Verma is not the only celebrity from Bollywood who has posed for PeTA. Prior to her, many leading actresses including Kareena Kapoor, Lara Dutta, Raveena Tandon, Yana Gupta, Chitrangada Singh and new Bollywood sensation Jism-2 fame Sunny Leone etc. have come up and posed for PeTA to raise social awareness about the welfare of animals and to promote vegetarianism in the society.
