If you ask an Indian to name a person who led India to its freedom, it’s very possible that you’ll hear the answer as Mahatma Gandhi (Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi). Gandhi was born on October 2, 1869. His birth anniversary is celebrated as a national holiday in India.

In this birth anniversary of Bapu, we are providing here on TechPuffs, screening of the full length movie Gandhi (1982). There are several other movies as well on the life of the Mahatma but this one is widely considered as the best movie made till date on his life.

The film became so popular that its screenplay which was written by John Briley, was later published as a book. Ben Kingsley as Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was praised immensely for his sensitive portrayal of the role. While watching the film I felt several touching moments of Gandhi’s idea of protest injustice with non-violence. In one particular scene he burns government passes despite of being beaten by police until he falls unconscious.
