Looking at the continuously growing demand of smartphones, Acer has planned to add six new smartphones in its smartphones product-list, in year 2013. Out of these six smartphones, five are based on Android and one is based on Windows 8. Acer perfectly senses the choice of users. As for now Android is the most dominating OS for smartphones.
Through these new smartphones, Acer wants to strengthen its smartphone sales in Europe, China and South-East Asia. Looking at the emerging demands – India, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia will be top priority of the company.
Reports suggest that the entry-level smartphones will have MediaTek chips while the mid-range smartphones will have Qualcomm Dual-Core processor.
If we look at the market demands of smartphones in second quarter of 2012, we find that China is the biggest consumer of smartphones followed by USA.
Acer President Jim Wong told to Digitimes in an interview that these new smartphones wouldn’t be super-cheap devices but the company plans to price these smartphones moderately.
