Archos, the popular manufacturer of portable media players and portable data storage devices has launched an excellent and ultra-thin tablet named Archos Gen101 XS under its newly launched Gen10 XS tablet series. Running on Android 4.0.23 ICS operating system, the tablet features 10.1-inch touchscreen display with resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. Larger than smartphone and smaller than laptop, this innovative tablet comes with a removal magnetic keyboard which can be attached or detached from the tablet as per our need. The connection between keyboard and tablet is physical one. There are no bluetooth as well as no battery included in the keyboard. The keyboard get its power from tablet and the tablet can be charged while connected to the keyboard.
Powered by 1.5GHz dual-core processor and 1 GB RAM, Archos Gen101 XS has been equipped with 16GB of internal memory which is expandable up to immense storage of 32 GB through microSD card. With its ultra-thin design, the tablet weighs 600 grams and is preloaded with a lot of social networking apps and popular Android games. The Archos Gen101 XS supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a HDMI port that helps the tablet to get connected with TV. Also the tablet can be monitored remotely by using an Android phone, via a special app to download from Google Play.
The Gen101 XS tablet include a new multimedia app called Archos Media Center apps, allowing the reading of most audio and video formats and compatible with full HD 1080p files.
According to the manufacturer, the Archos Gen101 XS tablet will be available worldwide from mid-September with a price tag of USD $399.
