As predicted earlier, Sony has released latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update to its Xperia Mini (ST15) devices which were powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS earlier. However the updates for all its Xperia Mini series will be available one-by-one depending upon the sales item number which is generally eight digits codes printed on the back side of the device right below the battery.
How to upgrade the Xperia Mini device to Android 4.0 ICS?
In order to upgrade the device, you have to first inspect whether the ICS update for your device is available or not. For this users have to check device’s 8-digit sales item number and match it against the numbers available on Sony’s blog. After it is matched you need to connect your device through PC companion application with the computer and the update will get downloaded.
In case you don’t find the match of your sales item number in sony’s blog, then you have no option except to wait for some time until Sony adds your serial number in their site.
In the Xperia series, Xperia S was the first device which has got the Android 4.0 ICS update earlier. Other sony devices which are scheduled to be upgrade to the Android 4.0 ICS are Xperia U and Xperia P.
