GURGAON: 4-years old Manesar girl Mahi was found dead on Sunday afternoon, when rescuers after 80-hours long rescue operation, recovered her body from a slanted 70-foot deep borewell pit in Kasna village. The body was a little decomposed. The girl wrapped in green cloths was immediately sent to ESIC Hospital at Manesar, where doctors declared her dead. The postmortem report says that the girl had died due to Asphyxia (lack of Oxygen) within six hours after she fell into the borewell pit on Wednesday night.

Sonia, the mother of Mahi was in severe grief and emotional meltdown when Mahi was declared dead at the hospital. Women police staffs have to lift her away from the hospital gate.

Culprits of Mahi’s Accident

There has been nationwide curiosity on Mahi’s accident and people praying for her life remain stuck to their TV sets to see the conclusion. The real culprits of this accident are those who dig illegal borewells in water deficit areas to sell water illegaly. Borewells are often dug and in negligence left uncovered as has happened in this case.

Individual cases have been registered against the house owner Rohtash and the contractor who had dug the illegal borewell. Police teams have been directed to snatch and arrest the culprits.

The girl’s parents Neeraj Upadhyay and Sonia as well as her well-wishers has blamed the district administration for delayed action. The girl had fell on Wednesday night after her birthday celebration, but her rescue operation started on Thursday morning.

Oxygen has been supplied inside the pit through a hose-pipe but it was late then. Asphyxia can cause death rapidly. On early Sunday, the rescue team has dug and reached Mahi who was stuck in a rock inside the pit.
