On December 31, 2011, Suzuki, one of the largest auto-manufacturer company launched a 110cc motorbike Hayate and 125cc scooter Swish, primarily designed for youth, at Auto Expo 2012 in New Delhi.
Suzuki’s new Hayate bike looks inadequately identical to the older 125cc Slingshot and Zeus, albeit with a new name and refreshed graphics job. It comes powered by 112.8cc, four-stroke, air-cooled and single-cylinder engine. The Hayate has a four-speed gearbox. The Hayate has a single downtube frame with an archaic tubular swing arm that is now hardly seen on Indian motorcycles.
Commenting on the Hayate, Atul Gupta, Vice President (Sales and Marketing) of Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt.Limited (SMIPL) said :
However Gupta did not disclose its price but alleged that the bike would be priced competitively.
The Swish 125 would be the second scooter in the company’s portfolio, after Access, which also sports a 125cc engine. The Swish 125 scooter is based on the Access platform with sporty, more compact and adventurous styling. Its 124cc, four-stroke, variator driven, single-cylinder engine makes 8.58 bhp at 7000 rpm, and a max torque of 1 kgm at 5000 rpm The Swish sports a telescopic front suspension setup, 10 inch front and rear wheels and 120 mm drum brakes at the front and back.
About Suzuki Swish, Gupta said :
The Swish will be available by March 2012 priced at INR 45,431 (Ex-Showroom, Delhi).
