It seems that the craze of Facebook from the mind of users is slowing down gradually. According to a poll conducted by Reuters and Ispos six months ago, it was found that the Facebook users are spending less time in the social networking site. As per survey just two out of five people signing into their profile everyday.
The poll was done over 1032 Americans and it wad found that 34% of users surveyed were spending less time on the site, with only 20% saying they were spending more. The reason of this may be because people are getting more junk that is posted on their friends behalf such as Social Reader, Horoscopes and less content from pages they actually “Like”. The news about user engagement comes months after the site switched to a “Timeline” form and just days after the company’s botched IPO.
In the survey it was also found that four out of five Facebook members have never been influenced by ads run on the site. This indicates that marketing efforts that encourage Facebook users to buy products and services via the site may not be working. Also 46% of respondents had a bad view of investing in Facebook’s stock as per the poll.
So have you been spending more or less time on Facebook recently? If you’ve adjusted your habits on the site, let us know why by your comments.
