NTT Docomo, The leading Japanese cellular network company has showcased an Android based smartphone which has really incredible and unique features and probably this will be the first phone in its category. Due to its transparent, double-sided touchscreen, it is different from another smartphone which are currently available in the market. Till now only single-sided touchscreen smartphones are available in the market. This prototype device was first unveiled at the 17th edition of Wireless Japan, a Conference and Trade Show
dedicated to wireless and mobile technologies in Japan.
Actually this transparent 2.4” QVGA (320 x 240) display double-sided touchscreen smart phone has been developed by NTT Docomo and Fujitsu jointly. A video has been posted by Docomo showing a user touching both sides of the prototype device’s display to manipulate a Rubik’s Cube in three dimensions.

However before the adoption, several issues would need to be resolved. For instance on a sunny day, the transparent screen would most likely be hard to view and the developer is trying to fix this problem too but at the moment they suggest that holding it to a dark background would improve visibility. Certainly Docomo’s this device will give the tough competition to the existing smartphone manufacturer like Nokia, Samsung and Apple and we should not surprised if they will also try to make product like this. It is still unknown when this elegant device is coming in market.
